Spanish Grand Prix: Victory

Felipe Massa did not even noticed that his Ferrari F2007 caught fire during a pit stop in the Spanish Grand Prix. Despite the machine shooting flames off the bodywork, Massa took a massively dominant victory, which he was most excited about. This is what the young Brazilian had to say when asked what happened when his car caught fire:

"I didn't know that, it's not important. If we had a problem it must have been solved.

As for the first corner fight. It was a little bit tight from both of us but I was just on the inside and went for it so it was quite a risk for both of us, but looking at the competition the first corner was important and I didn't want to lose like I did in Malaysia. I was inside so I just wanted to stay there. We touched and it was very close, a very small contact but I was a bit afraid after for my car, but fortunately nothing happened.

I think the most difficult part of the race was the start and afterwards when I saw that the car was responding quite well I managed to build quite a good gap already and after that had the race in my hands," he concluded."

Felipe Massa is now third in the Drivers' Championship. Two points behind leader Lewis Hamilton and only one behind Fernando Alonso.
