Campos Meta confirm Senna for 2010

Bruno Senna, nephew of triple world champion Ayrton, has been confirmed in the driver line up for Campos Meta for the 2010 season. The Brazilian has been gunning for a drive in Formula One for many a season. “I’m absolutely delighted to fulfill a lifetime dream,” said Senna, “Now it is time to set new targets.”

He joins Campos Meta after a season in the Le Mans series, prior to this he was the runner up in the 2008 GP2 series. Sources say that he was also in talks with Manor, Lotus and an existing outfit. 

Campos Meta chief Rodriguez de Castro called the appointment “an extraordinary honour to return the name of Senna to Formula One.” 

Senna tested for the Honda team during the 2008 season in the hope of securing a Formula One drive but the team pulled out of the sport at the end of the year. Ross Brawn, who then bought the team, opted to stick with the experience of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, overlooking the Brazilian. 

At the Brazilian Grand Prix Senna said “I’m looking for a team that has the potential to deliver results and consistency. It’s vital to be in Formula One next year as maybe it will be lost if it doesn’t happen then.”

 It has also been confirmed that the Brazilian was not going to join the Lotus team out of respect for his uncle, the late Ayrton Senna.

Campos may have confirmed Senna, but I hear there's doubts about Campos' ability to be race ready in 2010. This may all end in tears.

I've heard its the same at Renault, they are having meetings about their future in F1, its a shame really because we are already losing 2 teams in Toyota and BMW
